Another celebrity conservatorship?

Haven’t they been making their own decisions as adults all along? Or is it just not with a particular sum of money invested in a trust or otherwise set aside for their future well-being?

Britney Spears settles long-running legal dispute with estranged father, finally bringing ultimate end to conservatorship | CNN
Britney Spears has reached a settlement with her estranged father more than two years after the termination of a conservatorship that had given him control of her life, attorneys for both parties said.

The gentlemanly theory is that they made their money by being young and beautiful and as silly females they know nothing about finance or investing or long-term weath management. We can’t buy that theory.

Say if you win the state lottery, do you take it as a lump sum? Or as series of payments spread out over the years? You either take care of the money, or take care of the property you buy with the money, or trade and sell property to maintain net worth of the trust.

I can’t work up any more sympathy than that. Did the stars lend out money for the conservators to invest, and then go to court to foreclose on the trust before it was due?

They’ve been around the block enough that they can’t play the pretty naïve females who know nothing about money.
